Santorum: Satan is working on the USA

Shocked it took so long for someone to post this one.

Lest we forget that Hillary and Obama's hero, Saul Alinsky, dedicated his book to the devil. This ain't the first cat to talk about the deble. The Mormon has to be having a hearty chuckle as is the Jeremiah Wright congregant.

“Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins — or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer
"
Just curious... are you going to call Santorum and Gingrich "The Catholics" from now on?

Whether this is actually Paul Harvey or not is apparently disputed, but if you believe that there is a Satan, it makes perfect sense.

If I were the Prince of Darkness, I would want to engulf the whole earth in darkness.
I'd have a third of its real estate and four-fifths of its population, but I would not be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree.
I would begin with a campaign of whispers.
With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you, "Do as you please."
To the young I would whisper, "The Bible is a myth." I would convince them that, "What is good is square."
In the ears of the young married I would whisper that work is debasing, that cocktail parties are good for you. I would caution them not to be "extreme" in religion, in patriotism, in moral conduct.
And the old I would teach to pray--to say after me--"Our father which art in Washington..."
Then I'd get organized.
I'd educate authors on how to make lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull, uninteresting.
I'd threaten TV with dirtier movies, and vice-versa.
I'd infiltrate unions and urge more loafing, less work. Idle hands usually work for me.
I'd peddle narcotics to whom I could. I'd sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I'd tranquilize the rest with pills.
If I were the Devil, I would encourage schools to refine young intellects, but neglect to discipline emotions; let those run wild.
I'd designate an atheist to front for me before the highest courts and I'd get preachers to say, "She's right."
With flattery and promises of power, I would get the courts to rule what I construe as against God and in favor of pornography.
Thus I would evict God from the courthouse, then the schoolhouse, then from the House of Congress.
Then in His own churches I'd substitute psychology for religion and defy science.
That way men would become smart enough to create super weapons but not wise enough to control them.
If I were Satan, I'd make the symbol of Easter an egg...and the symbol of Christmas a bottle.
If I were the Devil I'd take from those who have and give to those who wanted until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. Than my police state would force everybody back to work.
Then I would separate families, putting children in uniform, women in coal mines and objectors in slave-labor camps.

If I were Satan, I'd just keep doing what he's doing.

not sure 1)what that has to do with bland, tasteless cereal, or 2)what is so "simplistic" about it (unless you think believing in Satan is "simple", in which case, i hope for your sake that you are correct)

perhaps you meant it was intellectually sustaining.......

regardless.... you really got me with that one liner there.... i surrender to your supreme whit.......

A guy in our Wednesday night men's Bible study brought an article a few weeks ago about American's and God/Spirituality. I was thinking when he first passed out the copies of the article that it was going to be about the increasing number of Americans who do not believe in a higher power/God etc. But it wasn't. It was about the growing number of people who BELIEVE there is a "God" or "Higher power" but simply are indifferent about it, or basically have a "So what" type attitude.

The article was about three pages long and had common quotes from people surveyed and the overall message was "A lot of Americans believe there is a God and believe in the after life but simply do not care about it. They are too busy with careers, recreation, and family to really care much about it."

pablum - Something (as writing or speech) that is trite, insipid, or simplistic.
using folksy "wisdom" to provide a laundry list of things you don't like, then conveniently blaming all of those things on satan seems to fit the definition quite well.

Sort of like those who blame government for the financial meltdown, saying that the government enabled the thievery perpetrated by Wall Street....yet still extolling the job creation engine created by Wall Street, and how government is out to get the same people (by regulations to prevent theft) who were enabled in the first place.

Every year, Satan comes down the chimney, leaves a big bag of independent thought, eats the cookies, drinks the milk, and goes on to the next house.

Thanks Satan!

So, today are you for or against big government and crony capitalism?

I could see that. That is a lot of what I take from that Paul Harvey thing above. Most people will admit they believe in a god, but deny that he has any authority in their life. I can't quote it without looking it up, but there is a verse in the Bible about just such a thing.

As I said originally, IF YOU BELIEVE IN SATAN, it makes perfect sense. IF Satan is the supernatural being that he is alleged to be, and he has control of an army of Demons, it seems only logical that he could orchestrate something akin to Paul Harvey's description. If you cannot see that, I'm not sure what else to tell you.

On the other hand, if you DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR IS A SATAN, then I can completely understand why you would believe this is trite and simplistic.

If you fall into the second category above, then I'm not really sure why you felt the need to comment on my post.... except to cause a fuss. Thanks, and have a nice day.

I believe in the "Render into Caesar..." philosophy; what I don't agree with is the line of thinking that business can be separated from religion. You can't proclaim to be a Christian and screw and impoverish everybody you meet; those two scenarios cannot logically coexist.
In public schools, kids should be taught about all religions, because you can't separate religion from anything historically, and be accurate.
In government, religion should not exist; using as a guide those religious ideals and tenets that have been historically accepted as the dichotomy of "right and wrong" is OK, even necessary IMO; but constantly interjecting God and Satan into political discourse is just not productive. IMO

It simply wouldn't be the "Non-Sports Board" thing to do to simply not comment on something we did not believe in. It's more fun and self rewarding to disagree in condenscending witty remarks, using pics to drive the point home even more and then topping it off with a hilarious gif to put the cherry on top. Once you realize it ain't personal it's quite hilarious.
