I know that this has been posted here before but I thought it would be a good time to repost for those that have never read it and for any lurking auburn fans.
In 2007 the university of auburn had declared the trees were dying. The rolling of the trees and pressure washing them is one of the causes. And during the seventies it was popular to roll the trees and then light the toilet paper on fire. This is what led to the pressure washing.
If the auburn fan base really cared for those trees they would not have put them through decades of abuse.
