I can't believe that no one has commented about the article in today's (5/18/11) Tuscalooosa newspaper about the BBCOR bats. It is a great article that goes into great detail about how the bats have changed the game for the batters and the pitchers. It also includes another article that hints that Alabama is not pleased with the Nike bats and will hopefully be able to change the contract they have with them. Yea!

You can tell most bats these days are "dead" with the BBCOR and yes the ball knuckles HARD off the bats. I played during the Gorilla Ball days and dang sure dont miss them being a pitcher and first baseman. I couldnt count the times a ball sizzled near my head, and I didnt have the time to react.
