New Orleans hotels?

I live about 25 miles from the Super Dome.
Like others have said, if you want a hotel near downtown (but not in downtown), your best bet is Metairie or Kenner. There are lots of good restaurants and shopping.
You can also go over the other west bank of the river and stay in Gretna/Harvey. All are a short ride.
Kenner/Metairie will probably give you better choices of eating and such.
Boutte is small and the hotels are older and the other places I stated are much closer.
Boutte is about 40 minutes from the Dome.
I would stay away from Algiers.

In regards to tickets, aaatix has several upper levels in the $ 400 to $ 500 range and Stubhub has many in the $ 300 to $ 400 range.
