Anyone have suggestions regarding possible hotels with available rooms for the nc game.[/QUOTE

Hilton just released a handul of rooms at the Doubletree and Hampton Inn Convention Center. They are by no means cheap, but these are the first I have seen released in the last few weeks. Probably requires that you book on Saturday and stay to Tuesday.

Good luck!

I just checked the website for Choice Hotels and I found a few in New Orleans for under $100 for the night of the game.

Another option for those driving down is booking a room at one of the casino resorts in Biloxi, MS. It's only a little over an hour's drive from NOLA, more easily available, and probably more affordable.

Just a thought. I live just about an hour and fifteen minutes east of NOLA, so (IF I can score tickets) I'll be sleeping in my own bed. :)

We've had our hotel room since October, but are clueless on the ticket process. Appreciate any info anyone with experience purchasing BCS tickets without having to take out a second mortgage can share!

One other thing to consider:

When you're looking at prices in NOLA, most of them are enforcing a minimum 3-night stay. So just go ahead and multiply the nightly rate by 3, whether you stay or not.

I agree with Staci. The casinos are cheaper, more fun, and not that far away. At this point you're going to be paying 600+ for the lowest of the low end hotels in town.

Is Beau Rivage crazy far? Google maps shows about 90 miles from N.O. I guess the tough part besides parking would be after the game and getting out of the area.

Assuming flowing traffic from New Orleans, you're looking at about 1 to 1.5 hours. Living here in New Orleans, feel free to ask questions about the area, I'll try and help out!

Also, if you want to find less expensive hotels and don't mind staying outside of the New Orleans French Quarter area, try searching for areas like Kenner (where I live) and Metairie areas. They are about 10-15 miles away. When I searched a few minutes ago, there were some for about $90-$140/night.

Done. Just reserved two rooms at the Sleep Inn New Orleans airport in Kenner. Figured I might as well, because I can always cancel if I change my mind on tickets.
Now, all I have to do is find four lower-level seats and I'll be golden ;) LOL

It's actually not that bad getting out of town from the dome. And, no, the beau is about 1 hr and 15 minutes once you hit open highway. Check the greater NOLA area for rooms and compare your costs between those and something along I-10 in MS or in Biloxi. Also, remember, most of the NOLA hotels will have a 2-3 night minimum stay requirement whereas the outlying hotels won't.

I stayed at the Hotel New Orleans not too long ago and it was only around 100, could walk to Superdome, and my room was great. It is right across from the convention center. Parking is high; valet really the only option, but I would stay there again. Far enough from the French Quarter to stay away from the chaos, close enough to the stadium and museums to enjoy yourself.

Slidell is within 20 minutes of the French Quarter and the prices are much more reasonable...

Also consider Bay St Louis, Ms
