Mo Claiborne Notched a FOUR on the Wonderlic

    Holy crap

The article also asks the obvious question: How did LSU keep him eligible?

And could a mod correct Claiborne's name in the title, please?

I may disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure you're not Hitler.

Yeah I'm not sure how he was able to stay eligible.

That's unbelievable. You would almost have to try to do that badly.

I think some of you guys are greatly overstating the difficulty involved in keeping someone eligible. These days a player almost has to intentionally make himself academically ineligible.

You stick a kid in cupcake classes with ridiculous grade inflation, i.e. classes where 95% or more of the grades given out are A's, and it takes no real effort or intelligence on the part of the "student."

True, programs also spend lots of money to have tutors in the classes the athletes attend and take notes for them. Thy get lots of help. A 4 is still ridiculous. They ask questions like what is the 3rd month of the year etc.

You can find a sample of the Wonderlic online--ESPN I think has a sample. In fact, one of the questions was "what is the 9th month of the year?"

In other words, you can be a complete imbecile and still remain academically eligible.

Some of these kids have no clue how important a good education is until it's too late.

This kid is going to get taken advantage of by a Sports Agent............and not even realize it until many years later.
