What a thread and what a story. Joe made State into a power and now mere mention of his name stirs repulsiveness for events that transpired under his watch. That program is finished as a football power similar to what happened in the old Southwest Conference and Franklin, once considered to be an up and comer, will have to get a second chance analyst job somewhere to revive a once promising career.

I'd be shocked if they were finished as a football program.

The reprehensible move by psu deserves its own thread and discussion

Had I not just heard about this I would likely not have clicked on this thread

I think this board could do well from a fresh inclusion of "clutter"

Neither is their BOT. They deserve each other.

Just remember: this is PA's version of API or aTm. Explains a lot. The fact the rest of the state can only point to some useless Ivy League school, a commuter college (in the state's only second class city), and bunch of other minor ones, in the state's only first class city, tells you what a dump the entire place is.

(Yes, it is a weird place. By law, Philtydelphia is the only first class city, and that other place (the one that used to make steel) is the only second class one. No, I don't know why. Anyway, they deserve PSU.)

Let me get this straight. They elected a dead man to the Board of Trustees? A man, whom, when alive, was fired in disgrace?

Putting a deceased person on the BOT is bizarre enough. But someone who died under a cloud concerning his role in probably the worst scandal (indirectly) in collegiate athletics just boggles the mind.

Well, in reality, they didn't. However, they undoubtedly did, symbolically... :)

I would point out, yet one more time, that the poster was perfectly free to start a new thread, had he wished. Most are acute enough that, when an old, long, thread thread pops up, they go straight to the last page, which is what I did. I think you're trying to conjure up a problem which seems to exist mostly for you. Please reply to me, if you wish, by PM. Don't hijack the thread further...
