I'd hate to see what would happen if an assistant butted into Saban screaming at a player during a game.

If they've got that dumb..... as assistant head coach then things really are like a three ring circus at Auburn. It was still embarassing to see Trooper tell Chizik to take a hike. No one is in charge there.

Someone told me today that Chizik is a great head coach, but Trooper is messing it up with the players. All I could think is,wouldn't a great coach know how to put his assisant in his place? I mean wouldn't a great coach would not have that problem to begin with?

Re: Auburn will be a first class wreck

How can they be 17 pt favorites...?
I guess it's just non-UK/Vandy/OM SEC team against Sun Belt, basically by default at that point. Who knows how ULM will fare in back-to-back weeks, but if they play anything like they did against Arkansas then a 17-point line is easy money.

Anyone notice Pornstache's expression during the Trooper-save? He looks so energetic and thrilled to be there.:D

I just don't see ULM keeping that momentum up. It is natural for them to have a let down against West GA University.

One of auburns corners (therezie) has apparently requested to be moved to rb, and the actually let him! I'm starting to think cheezstik is actually trying to get fired. Seriously, what part of moving a db, a position at which you SUCK, to rb, which is arguably their best position, makes any sense?

Re: Auburn will be a first class wreck

Even Josh Moon wrote a negative article about Chizik.

And there is no one to blame for any of that who isn’t named, or wasn’t hired by Chizik.

But then, the excuses have always been a bit absurd — the notions that one year of poor recruiting was insurmountable or the insane idea that the run to a national championship in 2010 hampered development of the team. (Yes, AU fans have actually tried that last one.)

The problems on this team have not been created by a lack of talent. They have been created by a lack of developed talent.

I hate to see one of them thinking or acting logically and fear that it will lead to firings. Though in reality firing or keeping Cheeznip* has the same effect; at least another few down years at the loveliest village. Of course I would prefer another year of painful downward sliding. Oh well.

*I know Cheezit is the preferred epithet for him but I just can't use it, Cheez-it's are freaking awesome. Nip's are the crappy imitation version so it's much more appropriate

I bet he has been rethinking that decision to go to AU alot lately. No matter how you spin it, it still looks like crap.

Re: Auburn will be a first class wreck

A barner's comment in reply to Moon's article. I want some of what this guy's drinking...

There are a total of four upper classmen on offense in the two deep. You can't win in the SEC with youth. That isn't all on Chizik. The defense isn't much better, and the upperclassmen we have aren't very good, e.g. Darren Bates. However, VanGorder is a proven DC that knows how to coach. He just needs the players. AU has landed a couple of good recruiting classes and 2013's class may be the best defensive class in the nation. I knew going into this year we would struggle to become bowl eligible. Next year is probably going to be tough too. However, I think they are heading in the right direction. Two new coordinators along with youth and inexperience equals a long year in the SEC. I don't like it and the defense and QB play makes me want to puke, but I'm a realist too. WDE

Or smoking.......
The Aub who posted the Moon article replied with this...

I don't know if I'm buying Chiz as the right guy anymore. Everyone wants to blame the fact that we have a true freshman and a redshirt freshman on the OL. But, if you remember, we won eight of our last ten in 2007 after putting in freshmen Ryan Pugh and Chaz Ramsey to go along with freshman Lee Ziemba on the OL. Youth can't be a perpetual excuse. We are sitting on a roster with three straight top-10 classes but we look awful. We haven't tackled well since Chiz arrived. QB play has been very spotty other than Newton, whether it be Trotter, Moseley, Todd, or Frazier. The OL play has been atrocious the last two years. We can't cover anyone in the secondary. Too many discipline problems. Something is amiss. Chiz is a defensive guy but we can't tackle or cover. Chiz is looking more and more like Ron Zook... great recruiter but not up to the task as a head coach.
He may be the most realistic Auburn fan I know.
