I like character development too, but this was just plain bad. (well parts a saw while still awake). I might try and give it a second viewing, but it seems I was right considering you are the only one so far that liked it. guess i will have to see that because when I woke up Talking Dead was on and being its usual useless kiss the producers butt show.
Maybe don't watch Talking Dead? Clearly enough people enjoy it to keep it going. It's a show about the show, it's not gonna come out & talk about how much an episode sucked, how stupid the producers are, etc.
I don't usually watch it. As I said I fell asleep during Fear and woke up to the useless show.
I hope I didn't raise your expectations too high. The ending was more like, "Huh, now that's interesting", and gives the viewer more stuff to think about regarding what might take place in such a situation.
