Auburn has a problem.. Chizik could not hire a quality O-Coordinator after Malzahn left... Who in their right mind would come be the O-Coordinator at Auburn this year? If Chizik does come back he will be #1 on the hot seat.

As stated in another thread, Auburn has only a couple of options, hire someone from a smaller school (Dykes, Malzahn, etc.) or keep Chizik.

My Auburn buddies think they can get Jimbo, but I think they have too much Aub in them.
Malzahn took a paycut to get out o there.

Chizik's meddling has really messed up Leoffler and look for him to leave after the season if Chizik is retained. (Chizik may throw loeffler under the bus to save his own skin.)

At any rate, the word is out that AU is NOT a good place to be if you are an aspiring OC looking to make your big break!

Jimbo Fisher played for Terry Bowden at Samford. I believe he might get some advice from the Bowden crew on whether or not to take that job.

Malzahn saved his career in all probability by leaving au last year

Finebaum keeps hinting that he thinks someone on that present staff may talk. I guess we will see.
If one of the coaches realizes that his career and reputation are already shot, then he might talk. Pornstache might also be a candidate since he can go back to the NFL. Otherwise, it is "keep it down home, cuz".

You have hit the nail on the head. Trooper does have a $1m buyout. He will not ever be employed at another major D1 school again. He will be the loose cannon that tells all to ESPN, HBO, or whomever. Sit back and watch.
I beg to differ. Take Rodney Garner of API and then TN and GA. Every bit as dirty as Troopa but seemingly always in demand. Who knows what really goes on with these types?

I'm just happy to be able to observe this train wreck from a safe distance.

Has a coach that won a national championship ever had numbers like this next to their name?

Chizik's overall record: 36-35
Chizik's record at *U: 31-16
Chizik's record without $cam: 17-16
Chizik's record since the departure of $cam: 9-11

Maybe Auburn knows some NCAA sanctions might be coming. If so, then maybe they can fire Chiz with no buyout when the sanctions hit?
OK, it's hearsay, but...my coworker (Barn grad) has a brother who is neck-deep in the Barn AD, and like twins sons of different mothers with one of the trainers. She told me (volunteered the info) he told her that NCAA troubles of a severe nature are on the horizon for the Barn.
I know, I'll believe it when I see it...it's just I have never had an admission like that presented to me by someone that much in the manure.

I was listening to the OD this morning and del greco had a great one. "It's only his 6th year as a head coach, he is still learning." Now that is a good one there although it is coming from Al Del Greco who stated "no comment" when ask his opinion of the hiring of chiznik. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.
WOW--yet another variation of the "we are so young" mindset. Only in Aubarn do you see such mentality.
