We have to play'em so why not enjoy the view! What was your most memorable Iron Bowl?

I think my most memorable is the 1978 Iron Bowl. That was our first "Goal Line Stand" that year against AU. They had Cribbs, Brooks and Andrews in the same backfield and couldn't score from 1/2 Yard line. Wish they would've shown it in the video. I remember John Forney's call like it was yesterday!

The 92 Iron Bowl, it was my 1st one! I liked the 96 one too, that was the last one I have seen Bama win in person. I went to the 00, 04, and 06 games and Auburn won all of them.

I've always thought it amazing that the barn had that three-headed running monster in the backfield and still couldn't get into a bowl game (granted, it was tougher then).

Anywho, speaking of awesome backfields that couldn't get it done, my favorite was the 1984 "Wrong way Bo" game, with Turner waxing Fullwood while Bo headed the wrong way.

1985 - The Van Tiffin kick was not only long but emphatic.
1996 - Dennis Riddle. What a nifty cut to get into the end zone.

To me it was the shutout in 2008. I love the timeout that Saban took which cause the "good" field goal to be missed the next try by Auburn.

All the other games are before my time, the 2008 was the first win against Auburn, that I watched since becoming a fan.

Auburn couldn't get into a bowl game despite an 8-3 record because they were on probation.

1985 - the greatest college football game ever played.

No question - 1985. 1st 3 quarters were pretty ho-hum but the 4th quarter was unbelievable. Back and forth with the excitement building and Tiffin's kick as an exclamation point. That was when the tickets were split 50-50 in Legion Field. When then kick went through, the Alabama side of the stadium exploded and the Auburn side went into shocked silence. Hugs, drinks spilled, high-fives, cheers. I think we stayed for a half-hour after the game celebrating. Amazing football game.

Don't forget Gene Jelks 76 yard touchdown run! If take one more play to score on that one, we don't have enough time to make the kick.

One of the things I remember about the '85 game is that they showed a Heisman poll at certain points during the game. I believe Chuck Long and Iowa were playing at the same time. Long would jump ahead of Bo and then Bo would jump ahead of Long. That is the first football game I can rember from start to finish.

The best game in person was '96. I have a terrible in person record of 2-6 with losses in '87, '88, '97, '00, '02, '10 and wins in '92 and '96.

I don't think anything will ever top 1985. My second favorite was 1999, our first ever win at auburn. Shaun Alexander ran wild and we won the SEC West that night.

My personal favorite may be 1971. Alabama and aub were both undefeated. 2 year losing streak to them. Musso with an injured toe runs over aub. That was a great day to be an Alabama fan.
