That, and the school/faculty does have the attitude of a Stanford/Vanderbilt/Ivy League that they pride themselves on academics, thus have a hard time getting athletes. Don't get me wrong, their academics are very good (among the top in the country), but they do allow "average" student-athletes in just like 95% of all other universities. They're typically better in non-revenue sports and basketball.

I just saw this Tweet from Stewart Mandel that verifies what you say..

Cal AD Sandy Barbour to season ticket holders: "the team’s continuing decline in academic performance is of great concern." Pac-12 worst GSR

Agree. When you have successfully run a big time program for 12 years without major incidence, kept business as usual and are still fairly young, you are going to get another job. He will be able to land a job similar or maybe a little better than Tubberville.

Auburn would be a perfect spot for him.

Exactly. Unbelievable how much talent can come out of these schools sometimes without the teams having any real success.
Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice? Congratulations, you'd probably make a pretty good con-man.

The rosters of NFL teams are a good example.

This guy is a good coach. He should get a hard look from Kentucky. I think his system and personality would be a good fit there. He has turned out some good QBs in his time there.

I've got a couple of UGA friends who still want Richt gone. He's the Bob Stoops of the SEC, just good enough to not get fired. If he couldn't win it all with AJ Green, Stafford & Moreno, he never will.

There has been a lot of talent, although I cannot name a single offensive lineman who played at Cal under Tedford.

Start with 2003 - A list of players drafted into the NFL by California: http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/ful...=0&type=school

Alex Mack was the highest drafted offensive lineman that played under Tedford (Picked 21st overall in 2009 by Cleveland).

Petrino would be a good hire for Cal.
If God wanted me to be humble, he would have sent me to Auburn.
