Do you have to clean them out after you drain them?That's why I always take a fine-tipped punch and put a very small hole in the top and then bottom of the can(s) and drain them before putting them on display. You have to look for the holes to see them, otherwise they look like unopened, empty cans.
The combination of citric and carbonic acids will, eventually, eat through the can enough to make them burst.

Wouldn't shaking the can create more pressure, causing a weak can to blow?I work for The Coca-Cola Company here in Atlanta so I can give a little advice. The acid will eventually eat away at the can so it's best to shake the cans around from time to time.

Sorry, I meant to swish the can around from time to time to keep the acid from settling. Don't shake it with everything you have A lot of people here have collectible cans on their desks and they will punch a tiny hole in the bottom as one of the other posters mentioned.Wouldn't shaking the can create more pressure, causing a weak can to blow?
