Speaking of Clean Hits (Nebraska vs. Wisconsin)

Did we discuss this already? This is from the Big 10 Championship Game Saturday. Nebraska's version of Kenny Bell delivered a jarring block to spring his teammate to score a TD.

My opinion: Player safety is one thing. But turning tackle football into 2-hand touch (which is what we're pretty much headed toward) is another.

Please watch the play below and I'd love to discuss.

"I didn't come to Alabama to win 10 games a year and be a contender. I came here to win championships. Conference championships and national championships. I love it here because that's just not what I want, but what this fanbase expects."

Did CNN show this one today? This is on a different level from Dial's hit even though it wasn't the QB. Seems like the TV announcers thought it was an awesome hit.

I mean...I thought it was an awesome block too.

I saw that Saturday night...it's ridiculous they threw a flag for that block for un-necessary roughness. Pathetic call...

Terrible call. Either change all the rules and call it soccer or let teams play football

Great block. A flag on that is ridiculous. That was completely within the scope of play. He didn't even lead with a helmet; he used his shoulder completely. What a joke of a call. Football is becoming touch football.

That was a far more vicious hit than the Dial hit. That guy never saw it coming. Murray did...

I'll say this, although I don't mind the hit. Kinda like hockey, there is no need to leave the ground on a hit like that. I watched it twice and his feet weren't off the ground yet when hit the guy, but he did spring. I know it's football, but there will be more and more lines drawn as kids get faster, bigger, etc.

Tough deal....I see it both ways

With the rules that they have NOW that's a penalty. Football has changed over the last few years to
try and cut back on concussions. Football is just not what it use to be.

How is it a penalty with the rules now?

Absolutely an illegal hit. Launched above the shoulders. No place in football for that. I am in complete agreement with Commissioner Goodell.

Hey Daddy why doesn't Auburn have a number beside their name? 5 year old son during the iron bowl.
