I agree with this. Fluker, at times, doesn't seem ready. And then other times, he's awesome. Not being critical, only saying that another year may mean another few million dollars signing bonus.

The NFL would have 1st Rounded him as a guard last year. Unless he pulls a Barrett we'll need to enjoy the great contributions of DJ for one more huge game.

I have a feeling in couple of years we will hear that DJ has taken the title of "NFL's Best Guard" from none other than the Tide's Evan Mathis.

Big A Re: DJ Fluker told Jarvis Jones we are running his way.

Fluker went Roosevelt Patterson on Jones and whoever got in his way. The miami players in the 1992 Championship antagonized Roosevelt in the streets of New Orleans with taunts and had to be held back by teammates. Normally somewhat mild mannered he made the miami players pay in the game. As you can see in the replay he was going way down field trying to find someone else to block.

Since when is Evan Mathis the best guard in the NFL?

I'd love to see that scenario develop.

"Marley said to Roosevelt Patterson, `Man, you must be an offensive lineman, you big, fat, sloppy (obscenity). You can`t block me. Don`t come my way,' " Lassic said. "He was saying a lot of stuff like that. I`d never even heard of the guy myself. I`ve got a lot of respect for his father. Too bad I can`t say likewise of his son."

Per Evan's wikipedia entry, Pro Football Focus rated him the best LG in the NFL for 2011. The Eagles must have agreed, cause they gave him a 5-year, $25 mil contract back in March.
I may disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure you're not Hitler.

Interesting, the only other one I can name off the top of my head is Carl Nicks who got paid a ton of money by the Bucs this offseason. I know Evan was the only OL for the Eagles to make it through the season.

Fluker is possessed and I hope he maintains his possession until Jan 8, 2013. Watch out ND, there's a freight train coming your way!

Re: DJ Fluker told Jarvis Jones we are running his way.

My son and daughter both work at a local eatery (local to me, not in Tuscaloosa). DJ and his girfriend came by after the aTm game. My daughter said she told my son, look at that big ole guy, does he play football? My son looked and said yeah, I think he plays for Alabama.
He went up to him and asked if he was "Fluker". Said he apologized for not remembering his first name. He introduced himself and his sister, and some other people started coming up to see him, get autographs, pictures etc.

My son got to talk with him one on one for almost an hour. He and my daughter said he was a very nice guy, down to earth, courteous. He talked about the game, going to school, personal life stuff. They really enjoyed meeting him. Said he was just a regular dude and he seemed to like them talking to him like a regular dude.
They asked him about all the attention, pressure, time, it takes to play at Alabama and he said it was alot of hard work, but he enjoyed it and hoped it would pay-off someday.

DJ and his girlfriend came back again the Monday after the Ironbowl. He remember my son's name and asked if he was there. He had another good visit with DJ.
