Last week, the SEC released its All-Freshman team, so we felt we should supply our readers with our own All-Freshman team. It's pretty obvious that the future is bright in the SEC, so here are the best of the bunch in our eyes:
The head coaches are the ones who make the big money in the SEC. But without a quality staff, a head coach isn’t going to survive very long in this league. So as we look back on the 2012 regular season, let’s pay tribute to 12 assistant coaches who separated themselves from the rest. Each of these guys made a huge difference in their development of players and units. We’ll call it our “Dandy Dozen” of SEC assistant coaches, and they’re listed in alphabetical order:

So it makes sense when we’re evaluating players and deciding who had the best seasons that we look closer at how those players fared against SEC competition. Sometimes, statistics can get skewed when you add in the non-league games against lesser teams. With that in mind, here’s a quick checklist of the league leaders and their numbers against SEC foes (not counting the SEC championship game):
We already took a look at our All-SEC Freshman Team, so it's time to hand out some awards for all those talented youngsters. But we have to make a major adjustment to our awards. We won't be handing out any to Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. The only reason for his omission is because we know that he was not only the top freshman but the top player in the SEC -- and the country -- this season. He IS our top offensive freshman and made the biggest impact, so we are respectfully leaving him off in order to give praise to other deserving freshmen:
