Each year, the NCAA compiles a list of consensus All-Americans. The organization takes the most respected All-America lists and combines them for a team of the guys with the most first-team selections. These aren't just players who got named third team on somebody's All-America squad or managed one first-team selection. Instead, the consensus All-America team showcases the elite of the elite.

Brad Smelley is inactive for the Browns (but at least he's pulling an NFL paycheck this week).

Georgia sophomore Malcolm Mitchell was talking to reporters after Thursday’s practice when his phone buzzed. He looked down at the name on the screen: Jarvis Jones. Obviously a two-time All-American takes precedence over reporters, so Mitchell answered the phone.“Where you at? I’ll come get you,” Mitchell said into the phone. “Go to the car.”

And etc. from TideSports
Jeremy Pruitt was one of the top recruiting coaches on Alabama's coaching staff. He has done a great job in this year's class pulling in top recruits. His recruiting efforts were noticed in last year's recruiting class. Pruitt was the lead recruiter for T.J. Yeldon and Alphonse Taylor. Yeldon flipped to the Tide from Auburn while Taylor flipped from FSU. He was also the recruiting coach for Ryan Anderson, Tyler Hayes, Eddie Williams and Chris Black. He was named the top recruiter in the SEC for his efforts.
Pruitt was the recruiting coach for a few key Alabama targets. A couple are committed and don't plan on looking at other schools. They also don't play the position which was coached by Pruitt while he was in Tuscaloosa. Alabama is in no danger of losing DeMarcus Walker, Rivals 100 defensive end from Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Fla. Walker is set to enroll next month. He decided not take any other visits.
Darius Paige, four-star defensive tackle from Foley High School in Alabama said, "It was unexpected, but it won't effect my decision." Pruitt was also the lead recruiter for Derrick Henry, Rivals 100 athlete from Yulee High School in Fla. Henry is also not bothered by Pruitt's decision to move to Tallahassee.
Jonathan Cook's commitment to Alabama yesterday may mean the end of Marquez White's recruitment by Alabama. The staff has liked White for a long time, but the numbers crunch hasn't been in his favor. The commitment from Cook likely sealed that. Jeremy Pruitt was also his recruiter. Pruitt has been very high on him for a long time. The two also have a very close relationship. Cook also has close relationship with Dameyune Craig who decided to stay at FSU instead of going to Auburn. White is expected to sign with FSU.
Laremy Tunsil, five-star offensive tackle from Columbia High School in Lake City, Fla., is one of Alabama's top overall targets. Tunsil is on the offensive side of the ball. Pruitt was his recruiter for Alabama. It's been a very close race between Alabama and Georgia for the past few months. Pruitt's hire could help FSU. The Seminoles are running third on his list. Coach Saban may have an idea of who takes on the recruiting in Mobile and the Florida panhandle with Pruitt to FSU. Lance Thompson was in charge of the area before leaving for Tennessee. It's possible he might make a move back where he built great recruiting ties. Some of his key signees included: Julio Jones, Mark Barron, Trent Richardson, Robert Lester.
