That was a quote from just some random poster on their board. Means nothing.

PLEASE shut them up! With the exception of Aggies, people in Texas want ND to win for this reason too! Shut them up! We'll take care of ou, you guys take care of nd!

Re: Notre Dame's mission--representing the rest of the country

It may be one random poster but I think it is an accurate statement about the general feel across the nation. Notre Dame feels like everyone's last best hope: a team that plays like the SEC template that may actually be able to out-defense, out-rush an SEC team. If you look at most polling on this game, most of the nation wants the Irish to win.

I went to this site. It wasn't very informative, lots of nothing!
This is the beginning of a new day.God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or or use it for good. What I do today is very important because Im exchanging a day of my life for it.When tommorow comes, this day will be gone forever. Leaving something in its place I have traded for it. I want it to be a gain, not loss - good, not evil. Success, not failure in order that I Shall not forget the price I paid for it.

Re: Notre Dame's mission--representing the rest of the country

I don't really think it matters who Bama is playing in the BCSNCG, the rest of the country will be pulling against us. Even some fans of other SEC teams will be pulling against us. Actually since it is Notre Dame we may have less fans from other conferences and and schools pulling against us. The Notre Dame hatred is probably rivaled only by Bama.

most might want ND to win, but when hard pressed to vote who they think will win, the same bunch will vote Bama to win.

I've looked at a few of their sites and I haven't really yet found any discussion of a quality which would tempt me to go back for more. They're sort of like a giant, well I can't really print that here, can I? Those kinds of boards, after the pompous boasting preceding the game are sort of interesting to look in on after the game...
