I'm bored at work and figured I'd post tweets from the media viewing time.

@ChaseGoodbread
Barrett Jones opens Alabama BCS practices non-contact and on stationary bike w/ foot injury from SECCG.

@AlexS_ESPN
Bowl practice is underway at Alabama with Jeremy Pruitt in attendance. Practice report on the way.

@ChaseGoodbread
Elsewhere, rehabbing players Fowler (stationary bike), Hart and D.White (light exercise) and J.Williams (drill work) all back at practice.

@Tide_Source
With left foot in a cast, Alabama senior center Barrett Jones is pedaling a stationary bike Tuesday while wearing black non-contact jersey.

@Tide_Source
Nose guard Jesse Williams is practicing with a brace on the knee that he injured in the SEC Championship Game.

‏@ChaseGoodbread
WR Kenny Bell on stationary bike as well.

Observations

  • Pruitt is at practice, working with the Crimson Tide’s safeties, as usual.
  • Senior center Barrett Jones, who won the Rimington Trophy (nation’s best center) and the Campbell Trophy (college football’s top scholar-athlete) two weeks ago, is not practicing. His left foot is in a cast. He’s wearing a black jersey, and lihe’s pedaling a stationary bicycle. Jones injured his foot in the first quarter against Georgia and kept playing, but he was on crutches after the game.
  • Redshirt freshman Ryan Kelly is taking the snaps at center.
  • Senior nose guard Jesse Williams is practicing with a brace on the knee that he injured in the SEC Championship Game. He came out of the game early in the third quarter but returned in the fourth quarter.
  • Junior safety Jarrick Williams is back on the field for the first time since having knee surgery in August. He’s wearing a black jersey but is participating in drills with other safeties.
  • Senior wide receiver Kenny Bell, who broke a bone in a leg in a Nov. 24 victory over Auburn, is wearing a black jersey and pedaling a stationary bike.
  • Junior running back/H-back Jalston Fowler is at practice for the first time since suffering a knee injury early in the season, but he also is in a black jersey and was pedaling a stationary bike, but he eventually left to go to the training room.
  • Defensive end Ed Stinson, who came out of the Georgia game but later returned, is practicing.
  • As expected, the Tide is not in full pads.
  • The media was allowed to watch three periods, one more what it usually sees during a regular-season practice.
  • This is the first of five practices before Christmas. After a practice on Saturday morning, the team will break for three days, then will resume drills on Dec. 26.

Goodness, our trainers must be overwhelmed with all the injuries we've dealt with this year. If we win the NC, it should go down as one of the better examples of perseverance in history.

The injury bug definitely hit the team this year.
Yep, especially considering that most of the injuries were to guys on the 2 deep or starting. I'm hoping BJ can get near 100% for the title game. He's going up against a very solid player in Nix.
