Barrett Jones is projected as an interior offensive lineman at the next level. Those types rarely rate as a first rounder. Almost all of your first round offensive lineman are tackles.
"Each play has a history and a life of its own. How is that play going to be remembered? If you're focusing on that play and what you have to do that single play, usually you'll do pretty good on it." - Coach Nick Saban
Green Bay Packers bench C Jeff Saturday - Barrett Jones won't fall past the Pack in the first round - stone cold lock
He won't last past the 2nd round, but a first-round selection certainly wouldn't surprise me.
As soon as we are all saying rightfully that as an interior lineman, it shouldn't be surprising that he would fall to the 2nd or 3rd rounds, Chance Warmack is consistently seen as a first rounder. Granted, I've seen some say Warmack is the best OG prospect in a decade.
a rating of second or third round is good for a Guard/Center, the value just isnt super high on those positions like they are for tackles. Even the first center taken rarely goes in the first round. Take comfort in knowing that the first Guard to go will be Chance and he will go in the first.
Serve no master but your own ambition.
I think his versatility at different positions almost make him a first round lock. With NFL roster limitations an O-lineman who can play three different positions will be a hot commodity. Plus, his leadership skills and character are going to push him up as well.
I like Kiper but I think he's going to miss this one.
There ya go Sip. Most NFL Olinemen are limited to one position and even one side. He saves at least one roster spot and possibly two out of 53.
i.e. Warmack will never play RG in the NFL.
