This is why Saban gets paid the big bucks, to make these kinds of decisions.
Saban has consulted with both Chris and his family about the pros and cons of playing prior to the SECCG, and had the green light to play him. I fully expected him to play, since we're basically down two WRs in our rotation. However, since he didn't play in that game, I don't see Saban's playing him unless someone else goes down. I know he was the most outstanding WR in the spring game, but he doesn't have big game experience, so he'd be debuting in the biggest game of all...

Well, because of the NCAA regs, it would cost him an entire year of eligibility, which he might need, if he gets a second injury. Opinion is split on whether or not he's likely to stay an extra year. He's super-talented, but, as said above, he's not very tall compared to most of the WRs who've come out early...
