I actually clicked the link thinking it would show AJ and Miss Alabama again. After reading this story it brought me to tears. I lost a daughter to heart complications on January 3, 2002. It is so awesome to read about a young man willing to touch the lives of other people. Keep up the good work AJ.

ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!

I hate all the dust in this house! Keeps my eyes watering!

Great story. I read it this morning right after it was posted and thought it was excellent. This is something A.J. or any other player for that matter doesn't have to do. For A.J. and family to visit that hospital on their off time tells me enough about him and his character. Giving kids hope can save more lives than medicine.

Incredible story. How lucky we are to have a QB of our team who is better off the field than on. Wow, AJ, you are an amazing example.

God bless you, Starla, and you family.

Re: Schlabach: The quarterback and his girl (McCarron & Starla Chapman)

On the night Starla was diagnosed with leukemia in September 2011, and the day before she would begin grueling chemotherapy treatments, the little girl told her noticeably concerned parents, "Just trust."
Miraculously, doctors told Starla's parents she was in full remission on April 11, 2012. Starla's heart eventually returned to normal, too, after she no longer needed the toxins to kill cancer cells. Another checkup on Thursday revealed that she's still cancer-free.
What an amazing and inspirational story. This little girl faced the ravages of cancer, the challenges of therapy, and the spectre of death with such a positive attitude. When I read something like this, I understand how insignificant most of my "problems" really are and how foolish it is to fret over them.

God bless Starla and I hope that she continues to improve.
