Just so y'all know, the author is a Georgia guy, and one of the few people alive that I have invited to my house to watch us play in national championship games. He loves his team, hates us (in all the right ways) but knows how to behave. Oh yeah, he can write a lick, too.

Good article except for the part where he tries to discredit the reason why Bryant invited Southern Cal to Alabama in 1970.

    Great read.

    BTW:
I was fortunate to attend the Alabama VS ND game in 1986.
Coach Perkins was not popular when he changed a couple of Alabama traditions,
    (Notably 'The Tower')
But the 'Steely, Grey Eyed' coach has always been one of my favorites.
(It didn't hurt that he beat ND) Good man.

Alabama is 2- and 3-deep all over the place with full grown, meaner-than-he!! men. It's almost not fair making college kids play against them. Any Saban-coached team is going to be deep as he!! with recruits that have elite size, strength and experience at their position and they are going to play with incredible physicality.

Best article that I've read regarding Bama and ND. Thanks for posting.
    Pronounced as or-e-bama not Obama.

    Or Chris, if you prefer.
