Big A Is Fluker not projected as a top 5 tackle?

In the ESPN bottomline when they showed the top 5 tackles he was not listed. So where is he going in the draft? He is a Bama boy so I want him to go as high as possible. Will there be so many tackles drafted that he could still go in the first round?

If you average Fluker's projections, he's going to be hovering around the 5-6th best offensive tackle in the draft (For example, NFL.com has his projected as the 4th best tackle). He can improve his stock with a good Senior Bowl (he got clearance to play in it), Combine, and Pro Day.

He got clearance to play because of the redshirt year?

I guess... I didn't read the full story, but the Senior Bowl is allowing him to play in the game.

Apparently the Senior Bowl has a new rule. If a player has graduated and his coach approves, he can play even though he has a year left of eligibility.

You're right. He was cleared to play in it, but an injury will prevent his participation:

The NFL's Official draft website has him rated as the 4th offensive tackle, he also has a 1st round draft grade.

The analysis there looks to have been done before 2012. As mentioned before, his output in the pre-draft activities will be the ultimate catalyst in how he ranks against the other OT's.

He does need to improve against the speed rushers to have success in the NFL. If he doesn't he may end up playing guard.

Fluker improved tremendously this season. He got much better in pass pro. With his size and attitude, if he isn't taken in round 1, someone got a steal IMHO.

Fluker has the rep of being more of a run blocker than a pass blocker, which will hurt him as a tackle in the pass happy NFL. He has the size, strength, and mobility to be a great offensive lineman for a really long time, but he won't be taken in the 1st because of this.
