Mathieu 'would have given everything' to be on field against Bama

MOBILE, Alabama --Tyrann Mathieu wasn't on the field when Alabama pulled off a stunning comeback at Tiger Stadium this past November, but that didn't make the outcome any easier to stomach.

If anything, it made it worse.

"I would have given everything (to be on the field)," Mathieu said as he stood in the back of the end zone at Fairhope High School, where the Senior Bowl's South team practiced Monday.

"That was a freshman on that blitz and I would have been a junior so I would have known that play was coming. I would have been able to do something."
    Anything? Not quite!
Oh, Susanna. Oh, don't you cry for me, for I come from Alabama with a banjeaux on my knee. G'wan to Louisiana my true love for to see.

Wouldn't have made a bit of difference.

He would have given anything but his drugs. That's why he wasn't there. Maybe he was getting high to get over getting beaten so badly by Norwood, getting run over and around by Hanks, and getting piled up on by the entire punt team.

Mathieu was exposed last year for what he was thought to be. Much like Manti Teo this year. Neither one could make a pimple on a good defensive players butt.

Truth me told, he probably would have done the same as the freshman on the play because of the technique they were taught to use. Knowing him he probably would have bit harder!

Would've been exposed, if he stepped up he would've been run over!

The truth is, he would have been playing about 15 yards off Kevin Norwood scared to death about getting beat. Again.
