Re: FootballScoop says Stoutland to the Eagles

Saban is two for two on offensive line coaches. Have no fear guys, he'll get another guy who fits into the scheme (and a lot of experience).

Replacing all those OL starters and the OL coach... That'll be rough.

How much school did Chris Samuels have left? Could he be the replacement?

The last two have been grizzled vets. In fact, the first had to be talked out of retirement. He hired Stacy Searels at LSU, who was only 41 at the time, but he had a pretty good resume'. He's only been at UTa now for a couple of years, but I'd bet Saban has him on speed dial...

Searels might want out of that cluster anyway. Alabama is a bastion of stability for assistants right now. The program is humming, the coach doesn't have an NFL itch, and the talent to work with is excellent.

With all the mess at Miami, JS may be doing us a favor and covering his behind...if "stuff" comes out then he will be a target of the NCAA. In the NFL they cannot hurt him...even if they were to have a "show cause" label on him.

Have to believe that this deal was done but on the condition that it was not announced until after NSD to avoid recruiting defections.

Also, he's pushing 50 now and has added to his resume'. Some of the UGA fans are down on him, but he had significant problems to overcome there. ALSO - CMB has announced that he's abandoning his attempt to mimic Bama (the words of some of the UT fans, not mine) and is going to mimic Oregon. Searels might find a more comfortable berth with our offense...

If so, best of luck to him. he did a great job here. I'm sure Saban will find an adequate replacement.

I hope it is as tough as it was replacing Joe Pendry, a 1st round Left Tackle, and a 2nd team All American 3 year starting Center in 2011. We'll be OK if that's the case!
