Yeah, but he goes on to say that he thinks that the rules will be changed back...
In a related story, Mack Brown says Texas is going to the wishbone, playing without face masks, playing two ways, and freshmen in eligible. That way they can be ahead of everyone else when the NCZAA goes back to those old way. And if they don't, he'll have an excuse besides Colt got hurt.

It really doesn't matter if they do or don't..Whatever the rules are..Coach Saban will play by the rules & will still do a better job than Mack..What it boils down to..Coach Saban is simply the best at what he does..Mack needs to retire into the Texas sunset..He's a train wreck in motion right now..

Be willing to bet he doesn't retire in TX. OTOH, a lot of our former coaches seem to prefer T-Town for retirement...

I agree 100% with ya Earle..I have a feeling Mack will hang around Texas & just run it totally into the gutter much like Diddy Bowden did at FSU..I'm good with that..I actually hope that's how it ends up..It couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch..

I was checking out TigerDroppings & saw this post from an LSWho fan that actually sums it up perfectly..

"No one works like Saban; Meyer tried to keep up and it put him in the hospital. Saban is literally a machine whose every waking thought is devoted to his Making his team better. Richt, Miles, Peterson etc. Try to balance coaching with their love for their families. Saban just never, ever stops working. Brown looks like a tired ol man next to Saban"..

Coach February (as he is sometimes known here) has always been esteemed as a great recruiter. So, coaching at the University of Texas, with more money than............well, most anyone else, which has the ability to cherry pick the best recruits, in a talent-rich state, makes you a great recruiter.

Huh. Bet most any of us here could come close, to his ability, if we were in that position. And no one would be surprised, when Zero U kicks UT butt, every year. And I seem to recall them losing to UCLA, at home, something like 63-7, many years ago.

Yet, Coach February keeps his job. Must have some dirt on someone.

Ah.................the Whiny Orange.........still living down to their moniker, at every available opportunity.

The problem with the NCAA is that they try to treat member institutions as if they were franchises. It's ok for the NBA or the NFL to regulate how many coaching positions a team has because they're one big business. Not so with the NCAA. It's not the NCAA's job-it's not anyone's job-to tell the University of Alabama how many coaches they can hire.

Bingo. The NCAA is always trying to legislate fairness. It's college football welfare. And don't anybody try to tell it would be better for the game if every team had a realistic shot. There are a 120 something teams playing FBS and 75 of them aren't going to have a shot no matter what they do. 50 competitive teams is plenty.

Mack Brown insulating that the "haves" have it too easy is preposterous. The UTx fans should be steamed. They're the biggest "have" of all. Just ask anybody from Texas. They'll tell you.
