I think Dee's will be adjusted up to high 4.3s or low 4.4s

I think he is a 4.4 guy. But who knows he ran track in HS.

Here's the Wiki on the fastest times. I was a little surprised at the draft results. I would have thought more would have gone higher. Two were drafted #7; the rest lower...

Dee is super smooth on a single move with his hips, stays low and drives hard out of the turn. Its the double moves where he has a hitch that slows him down. Not exactly sure why he has problems with the second move as smooth as he gets out of the first. Looks as though when he rotates he is so smooth that he over rotates just a small amount that is not an issue with a single move but it causes him to make a small correction step when a double move is made. Thats what happened to him in the A&M game. It can be corrected and probably will when he land on a team. He will see lots of double moves as a #1 corner.

His hands are terrible today. Needs lots of work on that before the Pro day or he could drop down the board. He has dropped 3-5 passes in drills and bobbled one of the two he caught.

he has also messed up two drills and had to start over. Almost like he is very nervous or pressing bad.

If his 4.31 holds up he will be a top 3 pic.
He ran a 4.37 on 2nd attempt. Both still unofficial but Solid!
A corner with his size, that speed just solidified his top 5 pick.
The only question scouts had was on his straight line speed, and that question has now been resoundingly answered.

It's hard to find a knock on Dee, really.

Starting with his Combine measurables, relative to other top-tier NFL Cornerbacks/CB prospects:
Height: 6'0 - Average
Arm Length: 32" - Average
Hand Size: 8 3/4" - Average
Size: 201 Lbs. - Above Average for his height
Speed: 4.31 - 4.41? --- Above Average, Elite really

We don't yet know his Combine measurables regarding his lower body strength & explosiveness (Vertical & Broad Jump, upper body strength (Bench Press reps), or his quickness (3 Cone Drill, 20 Yard Shuttle, & 60 Yard Shuttle) but it's difficult to believe that he'll run below average in any of those.

And we all know that his game tape is well above average, as he's the highest graded CB in this year's draft. He's got both the cover skills and the ball-hawking ability as strengths whereas most CBs have only one as a true strength.

Add in his measurables and his stock - which had already pegged him as a Top 10 pick, at worst - is rising with anyone paying attention. Even if his official 40 time falls to a 4.41 or even a 4.44 then there's very little chance he's left on the board after pick 5 and a pretty good chance that a team in need of a corner could trade up to the 2nd or 3rd pick to get him.

He's made himself some money today. :biggrins:

Have they released the official time for Milliner yet? Been keeping an eye on Twitter but haven't seen anything yet other than the unofficial.

Hmm, perhaps I spoke too soon.

Of course, remember two things about these particular drills:
- He's a Cornerback, not a Wide Receiver
- He's been coached by Nick Saban while being a star in Saban's defensive backfield.

Most Cornerbacks don't have good hands - that's why they're Cornerbacks and not Receivers. :) Scouts and GMs don't worry too much about Corners who don't have great hands, especially if they've shown the ability to make (at least some) interceptions in their game film - which Milliner has. Also, they're not going to worry too much about messing up a few drills; they know that he was able to play and play well as a CB in Saban's Defense, so they know that he can do the work as well as pick up and perform in any NFL Defensive Scheme.

They'll pay much more attention to his raw times in the quickness drills and his feet, hips, and eyes in the cover drills. He should excel in the latter.

Hard to believe some people thought Milliner wouldn't run well. Anybody who ever really saw the kid ought to have known he would light up the Combine.

Remember three years ago, after he showed up on the prep camp circuit, when he immediately shot up from a middling three-star safety prospect to the largely undisputed #1 CB recruit in the country? You don't do that sort of thing by running a 4.6.

Exactly. He finished second in the 6A state track 100m finals his junior year to only Corey Grant.
