    Patrick Suddes...

He's taking a lot of knowledge about our recruiting methods, database, etc. with him to UT. The good news is I don't see our playing UT any time soon. They'll have to get a lot better before that happens...

Ya UT is just waiting for that home run type head coach to come along, I'm sure Mack brown knows it, they just don't want to be like Tenn. looking around for coaches and having losing seasons. They are getting their infrastructure up to par now. Texas has been very open about wanting to be like Alabama, and can you blame them. What we do here works. And other programs recognize. It's so awesome!

Its obvious that Patrick Suddes is a great hire by Texas The fact that he was with Saban for so many years and through several coaching stops shows that Saban thought a lot of him...as does his comments about him.

A great promotion and opportunity for him and I wish him the best...

Now, it will be great to see who Saban replaces him with...

I'm sure he'll bring a lot of fresh ideas to Texas, but it is still Mack Brown leading the program. He just doesn't have the fire he had at UNC and his first half-dozen years at UT.

is he taking saban? seems like everytime someone grabs one of these guys that's a big part of what CNS does, it never really translates as well as they hoped and Saban keeps rolling on.

^^^This. Good post. So true. It must just kill all the pretenders out there; the Bama and Saban wannabes.

I doubt he's taking the "database" with him. Maybe knowledge of how it worked, but not contents.

He better have a photographic memory for sure. I imagine that database is pretty extensive and very detailed on individual players.

Totally agree. While Coach Saban is at the Capstone, I don't think it matters too much who leaves to get a promotion. Good luck to them. It's all very well knowing the recruiting methods etc., but if you don't have someone who can recognize a diamond in the rough and real talent like Coach Saban appears to do, then much of their knowledge is for naught.

That would be the equivalant of stealing. Whatever is on the University's computer belongs to the University. Besides, it would just be wrong regardless of legality.

Personally, I wouldn't worry that much about the data, its pretty short-lived and besides, Brown doesn't see to have much problem corraling pretty much all the talent he needs without leaving Texas. I just hate to see him gain insight on how prospects are rated at Alabama and how the database is employed.
