IMO, this situation is a perfect example of how next years 4 team playoff is a vast improvement of the current BCS system.
IMO, if the season ended as is today, I am fairly sure they would select us.I think the four-team playoff is just fine and advocated it.
What I DON'T advocate is what is put in there to prevent us from advancing - the selection committee. I was ALL FOR the top four BCS playoff, that would have been so easy.
But NOOOOO. Funny how the same talking heads who insist that we needed a playoff to settle things because voting was a joke by the coaches and writers have now put the voting in the hands of 16 creative goofs.
How do you - with a committee - select us over:IMO, if the season ended as is today, I am fairly sure they would select us.
Yep if that 8th ranked team is Notre Dame it will happen.I'm still against it - not because a four team playoff won't be better, but as I've argued over and over (and as CF mentioned above) - it's just a matter of time before an 8th ranked team (or lower) gets a shot.
Why? Point to an 8th place team in the last 25 years (or ever for that matter) that was deserving of a NC shot.Agree and think 8 would be better than 4.

Easy. Although this was far from our best performance, we were just one coaching call from wrapping it up (passing up on FG after Coopers 99 yd TD) and one one in a thousand play (FG miss runback). Most polls have us #4, guessing BCS has us same. How do you - with a committee - select us over:
Baylor (assuming they beat Texas)
Oklahoma State (assuming they beat OU)
One will no doubt be a conference champion. Btw - I don't disagree with your basic point, but I'm saying THIS is what selection committees are about. And besides - you really think Delaney wouldn't argue if Mich St beat Ohio St to make them BOTH one-loss teams that "Alabama didn't even win its division?"
