I've read somewhere that our next punter isn't on campus yet. I think Griffith can do both, but it seems I got the idea when I read that comment that we may be offering a punter or inviting them as a walk-on.

I think Coach needs to take a few days off to see if he can find a field goal kicker and a punter in Australia.

Australia seems to be developing some good kickers. What are they doing down under to do this?

Also, check to see if you can find another good NG down under.

The thing that impresses me about Griffith is that he always looked like he was ready to jump in the game, especially in the Auburn and Oklahoma games.

Sure he missed the 57 yarder in the IB, but kudos to him for believing he was up to the task.

JK Scott is a 2014 commit. He is expected to be the punter.

I watched a video of punt coverage practice from the Superdome on al.com. While Griffith CAN punt - he was consistently 15-20 yards shorter than Cody, although the sample size was small (2 or 3 punts each)

I can drop kick a rugby ball (you have to let it hit the ground and kick it after the bounce) half the length of a Rugby field (70-80yds) and did it successfully 4 out of 5 attempts to win a bet. Soccer players for place kicking and Aussie rules players for punting.

Most semi fit soccer players would routinely make 40-50 field goals, but it's a different ball game when you have 11 man-mountains trying to rip your head off. Which is exactly the reason I never played rugby :D.

I thing AG will have a great career at Bama. He kicks a beautiful ball! He reminds me of Leigh Tiffen in terms of how high he kicks it and the rotation on the ball. But I think he may have a stronger leg than LT and even Cade Foster.

Huge props to Cade Foster for the improvement he made over his last couple of years, but his technique always puzzled me and it partially explains his terrible "off game" he had against the Barn.

After watching warm-ups in NOLA I don't see how AG will be the punter next year. His punts were short and low. On a side note it did take Cody a few years to get to where he was a good punter. Mayde AG will learn. To me he does look good on his field goal atempts.

Hope we can settle on a fg specialist (likely AG IMO) and another person who can punt.

Much greater risk getting injured punting. It would be more likely to lose a game if you are depending on one guy to do two jobs if he got hurt on a roughing the punter or coverage duties.

and I hate to bring it up, especially since Cade so really good for the first part of this year, but what the heck happened with him in the last couple of games? He went from being very reliable to not very good at all. Did he get banged up or something else impact his form?
