This is what great people and coaches do.Colin Cowherd was just on Finebaum and talked about the hire along with how refocused CNS is. He said a very close source he can trust said Saban asked folks while in LA about the issues with the team and looked in the mirror and thought about how he can improve.
Kids excited about dinner time with Mrs. Kiffin? haha!@_bsims6 Want to welcome coach lane to the tide will do very well for us this coming up here
@TimWatts_BOL Hearing a lot of current 'Bama kids on offensive side of ball are extremely excited about Lane Kiffin being hired. #Bama@247sports
or vs. USCw in the NC game...:biggrin2:I hope he wants to run the score up on Tennessee!!
Do we even have a 'Director of Donut Consumption'?Then Lord help us if Cristobal steps down and you start pushing Fulmer on us.
considering how fast this happened after Nuss left, I imagine it has been in the works a while (this also supports the idea Nuss leaving was a bit by mutual agreement). I'm also a bit wary of the hire because of his most recent history. Maybe he is like his dad and better as a coordinator than as a head coach.Personally, I think this is a BIG mistake. I will still support the team but I am disappointed in this choice. Did we even consider anyone else?
Kiffin was a good offensive coordinator, and he's still young. It's not even fair to say he was a bad head coach, he was just in way over his head. There are probably active NFL players older than him, and he's had three head coaching gigs already. He was just way over-promoted, and his immaturity showed in a lot of ways.
This guy has a lot to prove, he has the talent to prove it, and without all the distractions of being a head coach, he should thrive.
Hey, don't look at me. I'm not the one that kept saying that Alabama's coaches did something wrong, or that the play calling was bad... but plenty of people here, including more influential posters did just that. Now, I personally don't know why Nuss left, or if it was mutual, but the people that thought something had to change are getting what they wanted. My viewpoint if is something did have to change, then hiring a proven OC that's a good recruiter makes plenty of sense.I'm still trying to figure out what's broke
Not trying to argue, but Nick Saban is getting what he wanted.Hey, don't look at me. Get ready for too many WR screens
Obviously Nick thought something was broke...I'm still trying to figure out what's broke
Which is exactly why I think this is a good hire. Under Nussmeier we never used our tight ends. This hire probably gonna end up making OJ Howard a few more million
Naw, CNS just called the first guy in his disorganized Rolodex ...Personally, I think this is a BIG mistake. I will still support the team but I am disappointed in this choice. Did we even consider anyone else?
