Wow that's lame. Not because Keenan is a bad player but I felt Eddie deserve it. Oh well. Eddie made the pro bowl at least.

As much as I think Eddie should have won ROY, I have no qualms about Keenan Allen winning. He was also deserving of the award.

Re: Keenan Allen -- NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year

what's this to do with BAMA football?
You obviously do not follow Bama recruiting and how hard Coach Saban worked to get Keenan Allen (see details below)

According to the Mobile Press-Register, Maynard will visit Clemson this weekend along with his half-brother Keenan Allen, a heavily recruited athlete who is the highest-rated commitment in Alabama's 2010 class. Allen, who committed to the Tide last November, is rated as the fifth-best overall prospect by Rivals.com.
There's also a chance that the pair could visit North Carolina State at some point in the near future. As the speculation goes, Maynard and Allen would like to play together on the same collegiate team. That could put a dent in the Tide's '10 recruiting class if Maynard's not a fit for the Alabama program.
Maynard, a sophomore who started every game for the Bulls last season, will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the upcoming season to comply with NCAA transfer rules.

That's a bunch of crap! EL carried the Packers into the playoff! Without him they would have been a sub 500 team! He still had a great season and represented Bama well!

KA was the offensive rookie of the year. Eddie was Rookie of the Year. Eddie is king, and KA is first runner up.

worked is the word here - as in past tense - did not get him, so he is not BAMA related. Now on the other hand EL is another of MAMA's BOYs

Saban tried to get Jameis Winston to come here. If he wins Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2015, should we have a thread about that?

Maybe. Some of us still pine about KA. Very special talent who got caught up with a shady handler who had already been banned from coaching in North Carolina for recruiting players, then started marketing them nationwide. Throw in that last-minute business with his brother, which Saban wouldn't go for, demonstrating that he would not compromise the direction of his program for anyone.

Painful, but ultimately reassuring that the essential figure in Alabama was clearly an adult.

Don't know, does he win it over a Bama alum which would then make it somewhat relevant? This is relevant enough for an off season thread, imo.

Reasonably sure KA missed out on 2 NC rings. Not sure that was more important than playing with his brother. But settling on California, he certainly had to know it was one or the other.

Wow. Some of you take some offense to what's posted on the football board.

When I watch NFL games or highlights of Keenan, I always wonder how he would have been at Bama. He was a 3 year star WR at Cal. Under Saban, he would have been a stud safety.

He also cost Jeff Tedford his job. If KA had come to Bama he would have been run out of town by Saban in under a year. When Tedford was fired stories came out from other Cal players that the KA basically forced Tedford to start his brother at QB with a "He starts or I don't play". With Tedford's career on the line he couldn't afford to not play his best player and got himself stuck. Killed team moral and ultimately his HC job. Think Saban would have put up with any of this? No way

Saban didn't put up with it before it even started. He told Keenan he wasn't going to take his half-brother in the first place.
