Grand Slammers BBQ set for 11:30 a.m. at the North Zone at Bryant-Denny Stadium

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Another eventful week awaits the Alabama baseball team, as the Crimson Tide will have six days of practices, with three of those days including intrasquads. The Tide will also participate in the annual Grand Slammers BBQ, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the North Zone at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The Tide will take the field for regular practices Tuesday through Thursday, with all three practices starting at 2:30 p.m. Friday, practice will begin at 2 p.m. and the team will have an intrasquad starting at 3:15 p.m. Following the intrasquad, the Tide will sign autographs from 6:40 p.m. to 7:20 p.m., at Coleman Coliseum prior to the start of the Alabama versus Georgia gymnastics event.
Saturday, the Tide will start the day at the Grand Slammers BBQ, which will take place from 11:30-1:30 in the North Zone at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Fifth-year head coach Mitch Gaspard will give a program update to the crowd and those in attendance will have an opportunity for autographs and photos with the coaches and players.
The cost for the Grand Slammers BBQ is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under and can be purchased at the door. Fans can also purchase memberships for the Alabama Grand Slammers at a cost of $100. Memberships to the Alabama Grand Slammers includes two tickets to the BBQ, a baseball/Grand Slammers gift, free admission to select pre-game cookouts during the season and access to limited Grand Slammers merchandise. Following the Grand Slammers BBQ, Alabama will return to Sewell-Thomas Stadium for the second intrasquad of the weekend, with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. The Tide will wrap up the second week of spring camp with practice at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, and the final intrasquad scheduled for 2:45 p.m.
Fans are invited to visit “The Joe” and enjoy all practices and intrasquads, which are open to the public and free of charge. With the new seating area in right field, fans are encouraged to come out to Sewell-Thomas Stadium and watch practices and scrimmages from the new plaza seating area beyond the right field fence.
