This might win the contest for oddest story of signing day 2014. :biggrin2:

OXFORD — Both Ole Miss and Utah are claiming it received a National Letter of Intent from Florida athlete D.J. Law.

Ole Miss first announced the signature at 8:23 a.m. today. Utah announced at 3:36 p.m. (central) that he had signed with it.

An Ole Miss spokesman said the school is looking into it. His counterpart at Utah said that she published he had signed as soon “as I was told I could.” But, she said, she thinks the school received the letter of intent earlier in the day.

Adding more weirdness to the story is this video from local TV news station Bay News 9, in which Law is clearly choosing Utah and is seen wearing a Utes hat.

Law actually triple-signed: he also has inked with East Mississippi Community College. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound athlete from Haines City, Fla. is a three-star prospect that scored 20 total touchdowns last season.

Heard he also signed with Georgia Military Academy and Herzing Career College. Just wanted to cover all the bases.

It doesn't matter since he signed with EMCC, sounds like he will end up there regardless if Ole Siss or Utah got him...

After a day of confusion, Law has apparently settled on a landing spot in Salt Lake City as a member of the Utah Utes.

According to the Clarion Ledger, Ole Miss released Law from his letter of intent a day after being announced as a part of the Rebels’ 2014 recruiting class.

“After talking with D.J. and his family, we are releasing him from his NLI and wish him the best,” head coach Hugh Freeze said in a statement. “We have put this matter behind us and plan to make best use of that scholarship.”

Per the Salt Lake Tribune, Law’s family wanted him to go to Ole Miss while he wanted to go to Utah. On top of that, Law signed with East Mississippi Community College in case he did not qualify academically. Law’s signature arrived at Ole Miss at 8:23 a.m. CT and then arrived at Utah at 3:36 p.m.

Starting to understand hoe Ole Miss got all those commitments last year... ;)
Seriously, what really did change for Ole Miss from last year's recruiting bonanza to this year? Something did.
The easy answer may be the real answer ($), but how can that not draw any significant attention from media or the SEC?
