Obama and the EU need to quit playing around and really place some crippling sanctions on Russia.
This may be worthy of it's own thread, but....

.....an astonishing announcement from a high level source within the London banking system that Germany was on the cusp of severing its long-standing obligations to the U.S., and was ready to leave not only the European Union, but also the Euro currency and NATO to join then join up with Russia, China, and the BRICS coalition to strengthen the financial and economic power of the emerging global system coming out of Eurasia and the East.

The gas exports form the major part of exports and foreign exchange for Russia. If they cut the gas, it will throw them into depression immediately...

Europe. You cut off Russian gas, you cause inflation for the masses of Europe. They are too connected at the hip at this point.
Probably - if there's no backup plan (and that's a LOT of gas and oil to make up for), the European eons are in the toilet overnight as well. The difference is I think the Russians are more inclined to tank their own to force the Euros hand rather than vice versa...
