Crimson Tide and Tigers to meet in Montgomery for sixth straight year

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Coming off a 12-6 victory over No. 10 Louisiana-Lafayette on Sunday, the Alabama Crimson Tide (5-5, 0-0 SEC) will travel to Montgomery, Ala., on Tuesday night to take on the Auburn Tigers (6-5, 0-0 SEC) in the Sixth Annual MAX Capital City Classic. First pitch for the game at Riverwalk Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Rays Double-A Affiliate Montgomery Biscuits, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT. In last year's game, Auburn posted a 6-3 win to run its streak to five straight wins in the annual classic.
Alabama is currently 1-3 on a five-game road swing that wraps up on Tuesday night with the MAX Capital City Classic. The Tide opened the road swing with a 2-1 loss at Southern Miss on Feb. 26, before dropping two of three games at No. 10 Louisiana-Lafayette over the weekend. Alabama has two series wins this season after winning two of three games against Saint Louis and Stephen F. Austin to open the year. Auburn enters the non-conference midweek game with a 6-5 record after winning two of three games against Presbyterian over the weekend. After dropping the series opener 10-6, the Tigers won the series with a 3-0 win on Saturday and a 12-5 victory on Sunday.
