Crimson Tide has won 15 of last 18 games entering tilt against Warhawks

After sweeping the ninth-ranked Ole Miss Rebels this past weekend, the No. 15 Alabama Crimson Tide (19-8, 6-3 SEC) will host the UL-Monroe Warhawks (11-17, 4-5 Sun Belt) on Tuesday night. First pitch for the midweek game is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CT at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

After posting a 4-0 record last week, Alabama returned to rankings in all five national polls. The Tide is ranked No. 15 by both Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball, after not appearing in either ranking the last two week. UA is ranked 19th by Perfect Game USA and No. 21 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and the NCBWA poll. The No 15 national ranking by Baseball America and Collegiate baseball is the highest ranking for the Crimson Tide since they entered the 2009 NCAA Tournament ranked No. 14 in the country.

Alabama has won 15 of its last 18 games while posting a season-long seven game winning streak during that stretch. Following last weekend's home sweep of Ole Miss, Alabama is 15-3 at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. When playing away from The Joe, Alabama has a 4-5 record. With the three-game home series win over the No. 9 Ole Miss, the Crimson Tide has won all five home weekend home series this season.

Probable Pitching Matchups

Tuesday: UA-Tucker Hawley (Sr., RHP, 1-1, 1.23 ERA) vs. ULM-Carey Taylor (Sr., RHP, 2-1, 6.08 ERA)

Alabama will turn the ball over to senior RHP Tucker Hawley for Tuesday's game against UL-Monroe. Hawley will make his seventh appearance and second start of the season. He is 1-1 with a 1.23 ERA in 14.2 innings, allowing just two earned runs, with 13 strikeouts and four walks. It will be Hawley's 55th career appearance and 19th career start at Alabama.

UL-Monroe will start senior right-handed pitcher Casey Taylor on Tuesday night. Taylor enters the game with a 2-1 record, while making 11 appearances out of the bullpen for the Warhawks this season. Taylor has a 6.08 ERA in 26.2 innings, with 23 strikeouts and 11 walks and opponents are batting .333 against him this season.

About the UL-Monroe Warhawks

UL-Monroe enters the midweek game with an 11-17 overall record following a three-game series sweep of Arkansas-Little Rock this past weekend. The Warhawks are hitting .226, while averaging 4.5 runs and 7.3 hits per game. The ULM pitching staff has a 6.22 ERA while allowing opponents to hit .290. Teams are averaging 7.4 runs and 10.1 hits per game against the Warhawks.

Jacob Stockton leads the team with a .293 average, posting 58 at-bats in 19 starts this season. Justin Stawychny is hitting .287 and is tied with Dalton Herrington for the team lead with 15 RBI. Stawychny leads the team with four home runs and three triples and is tied for the team lead with seven doubles. Herrington has two home runs, seven doubles and leads the club with 21 runs scored. Keelin Rasch has a .277 average and is second on the team with 14 RBI, while posting seven doubles, a triple and two home runs.

Tyler Bray leads the pitching staff with 15 appearances out the bullpen, totaling 22.2 innings pitch. Bray has a 2-3 record with three saves and leads the team with 29 strikeouts. Bruce Peddie took over as the interim head coach on March 27. As the head coach, Peddie guided the team to a series sweep over Arkansas-Little Rock this past weekend, posting a 3-0 record as the ULM skipper.

All-Time Series Versus UL-Monroe

Tuesday's game against ULM will mark the eighth all-time meeting between the two schools and the first meeting since the 1996 season. Alabama holds a 5-2 record all-time against the Warhawks. Tuesday's game will mark the first time Alabama has played the Warhawks since they have been named UL-Monroe. ULM was previously known as Northeastern University. In a three-game series in Monroe, La., in 1996, Alabama won two of the three games, but the Warhawks won the series finale, 5-3.

On Deck for the Tide

Following the midweek game against UL-Monroe, Alabama returns to SEC play with a three-game series at Texas A&M this weekend. The series gets underway on Friday night with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. CT from Blue Bell Bark. Game two starts at 2:05 p.m. CT on Saturday and the series finale starts at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday. The games on Friday and Saturday will be televised on Fox Sports Net Southwest. The three games will mark games 6-8 all-time between the two schools. Alabama is 2-3 all-time versus the Aggies, after winning both games played between the two teams last season in Tuscaloosa.
