The QB discussion has gone in circles and will continue to do so until Bateman, Sims or Coker solidifies the spot. However, Sims should be applauded for doing the extra work to improve himself. Link

Blake Sims is spending his latest break from Alabama the same way he did in March.

The senior quarterback is back in South Florida working with private coach Ken Mastrole. The two first got together during Alabama's spring break.

No matter how the QB situs turns, I will appreciate Blake for the fact he seems to have been a good teammate, has stayed out of trouble, and he seems to be doing all he can to become a better QB in this critical year.

Agree. This cannot be said too many times. Roll Tide Blake!

I agree. Blake has seemed to have done everything right on and off the field. I don't know if Blake will be our starter but I wish him all the luck in the world. Good person that works hard.

He is, IMO, one of the best "teamers" the Tide has had, inasmuch as he seldom played at a position that usually has guys with massive egos, and he never wavered, just kept working and (seemingly) doing what he was supposed to do. Can't ask for more than that. Whatever happens I know his future is bright.

He's been a terrific teammate. I almost wish he had played a different position or played somewhere else...he just never struck me as a natural QB. I'm hoping against hope that his A-Day performance was an aberration and that he pushes Coker for the job.

Don't all the QBs work with their own guru? Seems I read that Coker has his very own specialist that helps with mechanics, scheme and such stuff. If players at any position want to work at their craft there has to be numerous ways to take advantage of it at a place like Alabama.

No, not all QBs work with someone away from campus. Main reason Coker has been working with David Morris is because he couldn't get coaching at FSU after he signed with Alabama.

I take solace in the idea that for the first time ever Alabama will be going through mandatory workouts through the summer. Now the position coaches get to spend quality time developing these guys through the dog days of summer. No wonder Saban feels that Coker will have a smooth transition. Finally, a new rule that should immediately make a positive difference for one and all.

Even though everyone else seems to think he won't pan out. Let them think that. They'll be the ones paying for it when Alabama plays them.

I forgot about St. Paul's. My point was he wouldn't have driven to Mobile every week if he was still on the team at FSU because he would have coaching there. When he was on break, he may go see Morris but not on a weekly basis.

Blake Sims is the kind of person I would like to have working for me.

Same thing can be said of any quarterback getting special help.
Of course it could, but in context of what we saw in the spring game, BS has a lot of improvement to make to become a good qb for our system.

Forget about who the starter will be, he just needs to improve a lot.
