1. Stunning departure? Quarterback Riley Ferguson not expected to return at Tennessee. Coach Butch Jones: “We do not anticipate that he will be a member of our football family moving forward.”
2. Les Miles says SEC coaches “unanimous” in their support of early football signing period but comments from other coaches suggest its far from settled.
3. Arkansas coach Bret Bielema on Gus Malzahn and SEC rivalries: “I was kinda of shocked at how much camaraderie there is in the SEC versus what people from the outside world probably think.”
4. Plenty of people expect Florida State transfer Jacob Coker to start at quarterback for Alabama but Nick Saban is not sold just yet: “Everybody’s way ahead of me on that one.” Alabama redshirt freshman QB Parker McLeod exploring transfer options.
5. Does Auburn freshman linebacker Tre Williams owe Saban an apology?
6. Nick Saban on Will Muschamp and the Florida Gators:They’re adding new talent that can contribute in a positive way. I think Will will do really, really well.”
