Not sure, but I saw it noted that since 2011..we have won back to back in Football, Gymnastics, and now Golf.
Thats right, I hadn't thought about that. I know we won championships in school years. 2009/2010, 2011/2012, 2012/2013, and 2013/2014. I couldn't think of of one in 2010/2011.

Looks like we skipped the year after we won in 2009 for football. This year we also won for doubles in women's tennis. So two championships so far..with a possible third with softball.

See this link I found. http://www.rolltide.com/trads/national-championships.html

I went to bama from 1996-2003. We won one national title in gymnastics in I think 2002. That was the only title in 7 years. Truly a different time now.

2/3 of the roster is from in-state. Representing Birmingham, Montgomery and Mobile. That's pretty impressive.

Also, I didn't realize that one of Davis Love's kids was on the team.

Actually we lost in the finals in 2012 to Texas 3 to 2, this could have been a 3 Peat. For those of you who follow golf; I just found out that Davis Love, III's son Dru is on the Alabama golf team RS Freshman.

no substitute for good genes. By the way: Shelton's performance, birdieing six of the last seven, nine out of the last 13, to win one up -- under pressure that he said made his hands shake on many of his putts -- was as good a big-match performance as you will EVER see.

No doubt. I think Lanny Wadkins mentioned that he shot 64 on the round. He sounded pretty impressed with Shelton.

For those that aren't familiar with golf in general, the state of Alabama's golf reputation, among golfers, is outstanding.

The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail has helped our state financially and how it's looked upon by outsiders in amazing ways.

So the fact that Alabama is producing some great young golfers shouldn't surprise us. And what CJS is doing to "sell" the program to the local talent and even outsiders is very CNS like.

Robby is from the Mobile area, as is Bobby Wyatt. We could not be prouder of these guys; they ain't nuthin' but winners! RTR

Both of them 1st Team AA's, and Robby is just a freshman.
