Would be hard to come up with a Top 10. Although I like a lot of DBF's list. I'd throw in a few more songs from The Who (Baba O'Reily, Won't Get Fooled Again, Behind Blue Eyes), The Rolling Stones (Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Shattered, Emotional Rescue), Neil Young (Cinnamon Girl, Look Out For My Love), The Eagles (a bunch of them), Genesis (everything from "Duke", Squonk, Home By The Sea, Mama), David Bowie (Station To Station, Modern Love, Looking For Lester), Mott The Hoople (All The Young Dudes), and courtesy of The Sopranos, Journey's "Don't Stop Believing." Duran Duran's "Hungry Like The Wolf" and Pink Floyd entire Dark Side Of The Moon. If you call Joni Mitchell rock, then the entire Court and Spark album...er....CD...whatever it 'a called. And I would have to add STP's Plush and Interstate Love Song. That's a lot more than 10.

I'll enjoy reading others' lists, but I'd have trouble paring my "top" list down to 50.

I tried to give a little love to bands that I thought were overall influential too. Maybe I should have named it top 10 rock bands, but then again no list would be complete without the Stones or Beatles when discussing rock.

10)Guns and Roses
9) Van Halen
8) Boston
7) Metallica
6) Ozzy/Sabbath
5) Aerosmith
4) AC/DC
3) Led Zeppelin
2) Rolling Stones
1) Beatles

Here are ten. Not saying they are the "best" but it is a personal list.

Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and Far Away
Meat Loaf - Paradise by the Dashboard Light
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again
Ozzy - Crazy Train
Rolling Stones - Paint It Black
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way
The Cars - Just What I Needed
Golden Earring - Radar Love

Although I could probably replace half of these if I thought harder.

I could probably make a top 10 list for most bands! ;) But lets see.

1- Comfortably Numb (Pink Floyd)
2- More Than A Feeling (Boston)
3- Stranglehold (Ted Nugent)
4- Don't Tell Me You Love Me (Night Ranger)
5- Slow Ride - (Foghat)
6- Kashmir - (Led Zeppelin)
7- Dream On - (Aerosmith)
8- Just My Imagination (Rolling Stones)
9- Born To Be Wild (Steppenwolf)
10- I'm Your Captain (Grand Funk Railroad)

Now that I have written that list i want to change it all!! ;)

Hmmmmm....top 10.....

I don't think I can rank them, but here's my 10 in no particular order.

Slow Ride - Foghat
Paradise City - Guns N' Roses
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Thunderstruck - AC/DC (specifically the live version)
When the Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin
Know Your Enemy - Rage Against the Machine
Bark at the Moon - Ozzy Osbourne
Fade to Black - Metallica
Creep - Radiohead

Honestly, I could probably take 7 of these with 7 others and be satisfied with that list. Too many good songs to pick a definitive 10.

To play along with Displaced's other list, here's my top 10 bands. #1, in my mind is definite, the rest are in no particular order.

1. Guns N' Roses
Led Zeppelin
Metallica
AC/DC
Lynyrd Skynyrd
The Allman Brothers Band
The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Journey
Nirvana
Pearl Jam

I Just realized my list contains a lot of either heartache or death. Should I be worried?
