WACO, Texas - Baylor has hired three-time national champion coach Mike McGraw to lead the men's golf program, Director of Athletics Ian McCaw announced Monday. McGraw joins the program after spending one season as assistant coach at Alabama, where he helped lead the Crimson Tide to the 2014 national championship title.

Big hire for BU...they may be small, but they have no problem hiring quality coaches to keep their athletic programs highly ranked. Vanderbilt, WFU and others ought to look at this model.

I'm sure Oklahoma State will remain the big dog in the Big 12, but I would not be surprised if Baylor will become a thorn in OK States side in the near future.

It was a huge coup to get a coach with McGraw's background as a National Champion HC to spend a year with us as an assistant.

I thought at the time, OSU made a bad mistake when they let him go as a highly accomplished HC. So when he was hired as an assistant in Tuscaloosa, it was pretty clear this day would come sooner rather than later.

A big thank you to McGraw, and best wishes at Baylor. Hope he beats the Cowboys every match.
