Well this doesn't make me feel any better about the playoff system. Common sense says take the top 4 ranked teams. However say you have 2 undefeated and 3 one loss teams from the power 5 who all win their conference than who gets left out???

I realize this is an unlikely occurrence, but what if all 5 conference champions are undefeated or all 5 have only one loss. Somebody is gonna get the shaft. Of course based on current relative conference strength, I would think the ACC gets left out unless FSU is its champion and then it's anybody's guess.

Well under the old system, THREE teams would be left out. Under the new one, only one.

That right there would make the system better, but it would also increase the calls for "an eight-team field, the five conference champions and three at-large bids" immediately.

You got that right, or as we have discussed ad nauseum, four 16 team conferences.

Leaving out the ACC should be the default condition. Regardless of who wins it. Just like Nutter Dumber, but for much different reasons. There needs to be compelling reasons to include either of those two.
