For the second time this month, an Alabama football player was arrested. Crimson Tide defensive lineman Jarran Reed, 21, was arrested and charged with DUI Sunday morning, according to Al.com . Per Tuscaloosa police, an officer saw Reed collide with another vehicle while backing out of a parking spot at 1:50 a.m. Reed then attempted to drive out of the parking lot, but was stopped by the officer. After the smell of alcohol was detected in Reed’s car, a field sobriety test was conducted. Reed’s blood alcohol content was 0.13, above the legal limit of 0.08. Alabama head coach Nick Saban released a statement about the situation. “We are disappointed in Jarran’s actions and this is obviously not the kind of behavior we expect from our players,” Saban said . “It is a privilege to represent the University of Alabama and there are responsibilities that go along with that privilege. We’ll evaluate the situation and determine the appropriate discipline so better choices and decisions can be made in the future.” The incident comes a little more than a week after running back Kenyan Drake was arrested on a misdemeanor obstructing governmental operations charge. Linebacker Dillon Lee was also arrested for DUI in April. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Reed, a junior college transfer from East Mississippi Community College who arrived on campus in January, “worked significant time” with Alabama’s first-team defense throughout the spring, according to Al.com. He started at defensive end in Alabama’s spring game. Rated as a three-star recruit by Rivals , Reed committed to Alabama over other offers from Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Nebraska and Tennessee, among others.
