I think us losing Siran Stacy and Craig Sanderson due to that turf may have aided that decision. I remember the game Craig got hurt in against UF, he was having a field day in the 1st half. Also remember when Kerry Goode blew his ACL against BC on the turf at Legion Field.
I could have sworn they had to bring in temporary lights for the 1986 Alabama/Penn State game for TV but may be wrong.
How good would Kerry Goode have been if never injured. Gosh he was something before he got hurt.
He was a heck of a player. Too bad in those days you spent several weeks in a cast after ACL surgery. Far better today. Right Earle?
