That false start on the FG was complete garbage. Funny how OL in these HUNH offenses can move around, stand up, and look this way and that and it's ok. I put that on an over zealous ref.

And yeah, if CNS singles out Arie we may want to sit up and take notice. I'm done with the criticism of what he did LAST YEAR.
I'll have to agree on the false start being garbage. A seasoned announcer didn't see it and I watched it on video about a dozen times before I caught it. The thing is the ref for some reason was looking directly at him when he made an almost imperceptible move with his rear end. The AU defensive players also didn't see it or react to it.

The OL is the biggest area of concern for me. If they can develop into a solid unit, then whoever wins the QB job will be successful. The kicking specialists are a close second.

If your number 1 concern is special teams, DON'T read Jess' "rating the units" sticky thread. It won't make you feel any better.

I wouldn't go quite that far. I just know that on fourth and a foot against AU, if we make it, we're basically in the BCS Championship Game. Forget a bunch of miracle kick returns-wouldn't have mattered.
We ran left, T.J. got stuffed. It wasn't the only time it happened last season.
One foot. If a guard can't clear the way for that small of a gain with the national title three-peat on the line then I wonder about his desire and ability.
That's all I'm saying
I understand that he's a pre-season All-SEC pick. I also understand that he didn't finish last season as
a first or second team All-SEC choice.
So these media people must know something I don't.

I'll add this, we probably had more penalties along the OL last season than what we've had over the past 4-5 seasons; and the majority came from the left side of the line. We were undisciplined and got blown up way too often along the left side last season.

I have stated before I thought the off line is average, and we need a infusion of talent there. cam robinson may be the answer at left tackle, and we definitely need someone at right guard, and while others think arie is good, I think his brother carried him a lot last year. and I still think chad Lindsey was better than our center last year. oh well, so much for opinions. I really think our coaching was a problem last year as well. coach saban replaced a lot of coaches at key areas, def line, off coordinator, defback coach, very significant changes. it will help this year. I would be disappointed in more than two losses this year. if coker proves out than I figure 1 loss worst scenario.

watched the game, the problem wasn't always OL fault, but sometime RBs missed the blocks here and there. I really do think last year was a case of " I know it all" situation, and the two losses really humbled the team as a whole and I think we learned a lot about being consistent for 4 quarter. we should be okay. Griffith will be okay, just have faith in our team.
