Question: How crazy it would be if SEC and ACC and then Big 10 and Big 12 combine?

SEC 14 teams, ACC 14 teams, Big 10 14 teams, Big XII 10 teams, PAC 12 12 teams = 64 teams.

Somebody should be able to shift 5 conferences with 64 teams into 4 16 team conferences. The remaining teams drop to a lower division problem solved.

And THAT will destroy the game. We will be like the collegiate level of the Premiere League, where the same four or five teams win virtually everything. Bowl games will have NO MEANING to anyone and will get cut in about half. But we cannot cite the success of the Premiere League precisely because that is professional sports. The last time I looked, we already had a professional football league. The collegiate part of it will be lost (and we've already lost a good bit of it as it is).
