and from 2005 there has been an almost 30% decrease in homicides. yet for some reason now is when they are ramping up the hysteria. makes ya wonder why...
I believe that it is easy to do this because people are more afraid of rifles instead of handguns. In my opinion this is just the start of a new strategy for the control freaks to outlaw guns one at a time. They will try different ways until they success to get rid of all guns to the lawful citizens. Then the government will have us where they want us. Depending on them to defend us from the thuds of the world where they will fail just like they are now. Just my humble opinion.:)

Will never happen as long as the FBI continues to post annual crime statistics - there are enough of us who pore over them to allow this sort of crap to happen, imo.

The numbers are convincing and easy to find. Deadly combo for those who wish to use emotion to try to pass legislation that ignores facts.

Speaking of which - even the bastions of gun control are falling like dominos now. Facts are facts: http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/27/justice/washington-gun-ruling/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

Nationwide firearms deaths from rifles per year:
2012: 625
2011: 694
2010: 733
2009: 774
2008: 822
2007: 910
2006: 928
2005: 967
2004: 910
2003: 846
2002: 974
2001: 897
2000: 896
1999: 931

This translates to an average of <2% of all firearms deaths per year from rifles.

IOW, this police officer ignores facts and speaks from uninformed emotion.
Is that just murders or does that include hunting accidents and other mishaps?

Eye color is wrong. Don Knotts, who, BTW, was a very dignified and well-spoken man in person. He was a native of WV, son of a farmer. When I lived in NYC, I saw him in restaurants around the neighborhood, we spoke and chatted briefly. I'd always assumed he was Jewish, since almost everyone else around there other than I was, but he wasn't. Good actor; good man...

I wonder how he got the position? Dude looks more politician than policeman. For some reason when I look at the picture dueling banjo's pops into my head.
