Dumb question. Does that mean that if the season was played 7 times they think we would win 5 times?

It's kind of like taking a spin on a roulette wheel with 12 slots -- five slots say "Bama wins the SEC," seven slots say "Bama does not win the SEC."

Roughly a 42% chance Bama wins the SEC, is the bet they're offering.

It means that Bama is such a big favorite that if you bet on them you have to bet seven dollars to win five. So if you bet $700.00 on Bama and they do in fact win the conference you will win $500.00. If they don't win it you lose $700.00.
Conversely the same $700.00 bet on Auburn at 5-1 would pay $3,500.00 if they should win it all.

So in this case you bet $7 on Bama to make $5 and bet $1 on AU to make $5?

You know, just for fun I'd like to be renowned sports analyst and invert the left side of this on my website claiming that I had greater insight than all others.
